Harry H. Miller letters, 1861-1863.

This collection consists of letters written by Civil War soldier Harry H. Miller. The letters tell of his duties, of being aboard the S.R. Spaulding on the way to Fort Hatteras in North Carolina, of his poor diet and of his homesickness.

Harry H. Miller of Logansport, Indiana joined the 20th Indiana Volunteer Infantry in 1861 and became First Sergeant of Company F on July 22, 1861. He served as First Sergeant until his promotion to 2nd Lieutenant of his company on November 15, 1862. He was discharged on July 8, 1864. From the description of Harry H. Miller letters, 1861-1863.
